[01]The challenge

To-do apps ask you to organize before you’ve finished a thought: pick a project, a due date, a priority, a label. So the thoughts stay in your head instead.

The result is a long list nobody trusts, and mornings spent deciding what to do rather than doing it.

[02]Our approach

  1. 01

    We wrote three rules before any design: dump, don’t manage; the backend decides and the frontend obeys; one screen per mode.

  2. 02

    A background worker reads each dump and turns it into tasks with dates and effort, using Gemini when a key is configured and a simple one-dump-one-task rule when it isn’t — so the app never stops working.

  3. 03

    Every screen was designed phone-first, for one thumb and a few seconds of attention.

CLEAR is a React front end on a lightweight TypeScript API. There’s one box to dump into, a background brain that sorts what you wrote, and a Daily Focus screen that picks your Top 3 each morning or on demand.

Lists, filters and settings stay out of the way until you go looking for them.
